Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) - Review

Prince of Accents

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is one of those overlooked movies in which the parody (Robin Hood: Men in Tights) actually got more exposure than the source material.  As much as I love Cary Elwes (and I do), I'm not a huge fan of Men in Tights, but this movie is actually pretty solid.  It's got some great 90s cheese mixed with enjoyable actors and fun costumes.  It's a good time.

I don't have a lot to say about this one; everyone knows the Robin Hood story.  If you don't, then watch this movie -- it does a good job.  Better than the Disney version anyway.  And probably better than the Russell Crowe version (I never saw it).

So what are you waiting for?  Go watch it!

Come on... it's got Alan Rickman and everything!  Kevin Costner?  Christian Slater?  No?
What do you think, Sheriff of Nakatomi?

Whatever, guys.  You're just jealous that Hans Gruber is cooler than you.  Look at that hair.  LOOK AT IT.

Still not convinced?  What about Christian Slater doing a silly faux English accent?  Really?  I thought that one would get ya.

Fine, you go dance to your Men in Tights rap with Westley Dreadpirate Roberts over there.  But you're missing out!
